Selective Licencing Scheme Update 2023

The selective licencing scheme is coming in to effect from the 1st of August 2023. Empire Estates are ensuring landlords have the correct licence for their properties. The selective licencing scheme covers the three wards of Harlesden & Kensal Green, Dollis Hill and Willesden Green. If Landlords wish to rent out a property to a single person, two people or single household (not a HMO) a licence will be required. It should then be brought to your attention that if your property requires a licence and you do not have the correct licence, you could get an unlimited fine upon prosecution and a criminal record, or receive a civil penalty of up to £30,000 per offence, and could be banned from operating a rental property.
